Description
The application of 2K or 2-component paint is explained very easily and quickly. The name says that the finished paint consists of 2 different components. This is a so-called stem varnish, (paint, primer) and the matching hardener. For a hassle-free finish of a 2-component varnish, a few things have to be considered. The description of the paint always contains the most important data on the paint. These are the following points: which hardener belongs to the paint mixing ratio processing viscosity dilution pot time colouring time processing method (application) processing conditions these points in detail: what hardener belongs to the paint? The description of the paint (usually even on the paint can) always states the exact name of the hardener that matches the paint. Please never use another hardener. The two components, i.e. varnish and hardener, are mixed directly before processing in a certain behaviour. This ratio is also indicated in the description of the paint or on the paint can. Here as an example: mixing ratio 5:1 (by weight) means that you weigh and mix 5 parts of varnish and 1 part hardener. Depending on how much paint you need for a job, take a kitchen scale, place an empty tin on it and then first fill e.g. 500 grams of varnish and then add 100 grams of hardener. This would then be the specified mixing ratio 5:1 by weight. Stir this mixture well for at least 1 minute. If you want to dilute the colour, you can order our Lion special dilution 2K/400.
